Summary and Suggestion for Teaching Practicum Program

1.1 Purpose of Practice
The implementation of PPL – LN aims to provide concrete guidelines for carrying out tasks as teachers through differences in other countries. Future teachers who take part in this program are expected to have professionalism as educators later. I am an education counseling student at Ganesha University of Education, carrying out the practice of teaching in class directly. In addition, this activity gave a positive impact for me to teach in the future, because through this activity I know the mechanism of the learning process that happened at school.
My goal in choosing PPL-LN rather than doing PPL in Indonesia to find out the culture that exists in foreign countries Especially Thailand, not only knowing but I feel the cultures that are there are certainly different from Indonesia, one example is the difference in teaching culture in Thailand especially at PSU. Wittayanusorn Suratthani School in this school is how to give the learning process, namely students who are active in the learning, while the teacher only monitors and gives conclusions at the end of learning, such as examples of students presenting each group after the end of the presentation. , where this learning method is very effective to be applied to students. Besides that, my goal is to take PPL-LN so that my knowledge is broader and has an international certificate which of course can be used internationally.
1.2.Practice Procedure
Before conducting the learning practice I met with the Campus namely Prince Of Songkla University to hold a joint meeting, where the meeting was given direction by the University where I would teach Teaching, after the meeting I was invited by the campus to see the location where I would teach, after observing the physical environment of the school I met with the teachers who taught at the PSU. Wittayanusorn Suratthani School to introduce yourself. In The Next They I met with the school principal along with the teacher staff who taught there, in this meeting we got to know each other both teachers and undiksha students who did teaching practices to be more detailed to get to know each other. After introducing themselves to the school / headmaster immediately discussed the core of what was to be concluded on that day, one of which was to discuss the distribution of tutor teachers in accordance with the department, the distribution of teaching schedules. After that I discussed with my uncle teacher what I wanted to teach while I was teaching at school PSU. Wittayanusorn Suratthani  School.
Do you know that my schedule was very amazing, because in a week I only taught two days in a week and I did it for three weeks.  From the first until the third week my supervision teacher came to the class to assessed me during the teaching process, and in the last meeting before I went to Indonesia my supervision teacher gave me a test, whether or not my teaching method was effective for students after that she gave me some suggestion in order to make me better.
My teching schedule were on Thursday and Friday.  On Thursday I taught 3 classess, those were Matayom 4/3, 4/1 and the last one 4/2. I think you are not familiar with the word Matayom, in Thailand Matayom means “Class” and 4 here is the grade which is the first grade of Senior High School. It is a bit different with Indonesia because in Indonesia we often say ten grade but in Thailand they use 4,5,6 for Senior High School. On Friday, I taught only two classess which were Matayom 4,4 and 4,5. Moreover, I came to school everyday, even I did not have a schedule to teach in the class. I helped the teacher for the administration of teaching and also I helped some students who need extra time to learn, because in this school the slow learners have a chance to learn more with the teacher in the office after the class. In PSU. Wittayanusorn Suratthani School the class starts on 7.30 AM until 4.00 PM, they have 2 hours break during this time. They can do anything in two hours, such as they can read a book or go to canteen to have lunch.
1.3. Outcomes of Practicum
There are some outcomes of this practicum, the first is I can improve my quality of teaching because teaching is not an easy thing, moreover I have to teach the students who have different language. I have to put more effort to teach them. The second is through this activity I feel like everything that I have learned in the campus is very helpful to manage my class, because I have to use some strategies to teach them in order to make a fun and condusive class. I have a lot of of experiences while doing the practicum. Besides, from this practicum I learn how to survive in a foreign country. How to live so far away from my family and friends with limited money.
1.4. Challenges of Practicum
The challenges while I am doing practicum.  The challenges are absolutely different with doing PPL in Indonesia. There were three challenges that I had during my PPL LN which were the students’ habit, the different language use and also the scool regulations. The first was student’s habit, in this school the students are allowed to bring their phone to school. It has a positive to the students but also the negative impact. The positive is that the students often use their phone to looking for information that relates to the learning activity but the negative is that students tend to play their phone while the learning process. Here is my challenge, they looked like not interested to listen and take notice to the teacher. They looked so busy with their phone but when I ask them a question they can answer it correctly. It made me confused whether I have to warned them or not because the fact was they listened to my explanation. The  second challenge was the different language use. i felt so confused because the students could not use English as well but I have to explain the material by using English. The solution of this problem was using google translate to help me delivered the material. I translated my explanation from English to Thai in order to make them understand the material as well. The third was the school regulation, this school is full day school and the students starts the lesson from 7.30 AM until 4.00PM. you know that the teachers have to come before the lesson starts, so I had to be ready at school at 6.00 AM. It was very challenging because I had to wake up earlier rather than before. I went to the dormitory at 5.00 PM. It was exhausting actually but I was so happy because of the experiences and knowledge that I got.
1.5. Overall Impression
The impression I had while attending PPL-LN was that there were many challenges I had to face, from the start of registration, it was very difficult to take part in PPL-LN because of the many rivals I had to face. In addition there was a diatribe from classmates who felt unsure about me if I was accepted to go to PPL-LN in Thailand, not only from classmates but there were some lecturers in my department who were not sure about me to do PPL-LN Practices in Thailand, but with effort, hard work and prayer I finally graduated to take part in this PPL-LN in Thailand. The second impression is the dilemma when I left PPL-LN in Thailand, what should be prepared and what should I do later when already in the field. but time after time all of it goes smoothly all the problems and all the insults of others I can prove it well. "Don't judge people from the cover but value that person from his heart, his enthusiasm and his effort". It turned out that in Thailand I got a very good tutor teacher, he helped me in everything even he always gave me motivation when I was teaching hours in class and that I can't forget he often bought food when I was in the office, this is good can save my money hahahahahahaha.
1.6. Suggestion for Future Improvement

Suggestion for the future improvement Checked and continued to do a program like this so that other students could feel what I felt teaching in Schools Abroad Especially in Thailand. Moreover PSU. Wittayanusorn Suratthani School in Thailand has a good realtion whit Undiksha. I hope Undiksha can make a whit collaboration of Prince Of Songkla University.

Your life will be boring if you don't dare to try something new in your life.

A few days later, I got information from the department that there was a Student Acceptance who wanted PPL overseas, now I tried to enroll in the department but the participant quota was full, I was a little sad to hear that the registration quota was full, but I didn't just keep quiet trying to find information in the department whether there was a friend of mine who canceled the PPL-LN, it turned out that I got good info that my friend had r...

A Little Story About Life In Thailand

"Sawadee Krab..."  That’s how Thai students greet each other. Unlike in Indonesia, if we meet other people, we will say “Good morning / afternoon / evening / night” depending on the time. Meanwhile, in Thailand, people often say the Sawadee Krab (for boys) / Ka (for girls) to say good morning, afternoon or night. So, every time I meet my students, no matter if it’s morning or evening they will say to the Sawadee Krab / Ka. By the way, on this good occasion, I would like to tell you about my experience during teaching practice in Thailand. Yes, I teach counseling subjects as a discipline for students. This counseling if in Thailand the name of the lesson is guidance activity where the counseling teacher provides an activity that can develop the talents of the student. every week the guidance / counseling teacher has a teaching time of 5 hours a week as I did in my teaching practice at a Thai school called Pong at the Songkla Wittayanusorn Surathani School in Surat Thani pr...
